Life in the fast lane was the description
of Billy's life during his teenage years. Accomplishing much of what most only dream
about, he was on top of his ideal world when a near death experience confronted him face
to face.
After enjoying the accolades received as a Golden Glove Champion in Fort Worth, Texas,
then playing wide receiver on a football scholarship in college, Billy launched into a
successful modeling career which sent him to new worlds and new challenges, including
becoming one of the first American Airlines male flight attendants. But through it all,
God's hand and call to the ministry was on him. Late one night Billy heard a tremendous
crash outside the apartment he and his brother Bruce shared. The crash was from Bruce's
motorcycle hurling into a tree at 70 miles per hour. Billy had become so hardened to
anything and anybody but himself, that he didn't even go to the hospital with his
brother...because he was just too tired.
But the next day when Billy visited his brother, Bruce just looked at him and said,
"Last night, I asked the Lord to come into my heart. What's it going to take for you,
Billy?" Billy ran out of the hospital fighting back tears and by the time he had
reached his apartment, he too, had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and fell on his bed
weeping and committing himself to the ministry. Since that day, Billy has served as Youth
Pastor, Pastor and Evangelist ministering throughout the United States and a number of
foreign countries.
